George Associate Spotlight

George Magahis, Thermoforming Team Lead in Williamsburg, has worked at Printpack for over 25 years. After serving in the Philippines Air Force for ten years, George had the opportunity to emigrate to the US and restart his career. Let’s learn about his journey in his own words.

  1. Why did you choose to work at Printpack?

When looking for a job to support my family, I wanted to work for a stable company and utilize my technical skills. I knew the food packaging industry was stable because people will always need to eat.

  1. What do you like most about your role at Printpack? 

There is always a challenge, never a dull moment.

  1. What is the best part of working at Printpack?

I enjoy working with the people at Printpack. We have the best breakroom conversations (and  coffee!)

  1. Would you recommend Printpack to other professionals?

Yes, Printpack has a very professional team that gets along well with one another, and I enjoy coming to work each day.

  1. How has this experience added to your skills so far?

Printpack has taught me a lot about time management, how to focus on many tasks at once, and to be intentional about expanding my skills and knowledge.

  1. What makes a successful associate at Printpack?

I have worked at Printpack for 25 years and found great success in being dedicated to a great company. You can be successful if you are focused, goal-oriented, and a positive thinker.

  1. What was a challenge you’ve overcome in your career?  

To believe in myself. I am thankful that others believed in my abilities and pushed me above and beyond.

  1. Words of wisdom to those looking for a new opportunity.

When the strong winds of life blow, be flexible and adapt, like a bamboo.
